A female reader, skinny legs United States +, writes (11 January 2009):

I have skinny legs too. I've been living with it for 27 years. I never wear short skirts. Because people will really comment how skinny it is. I am really so discourage already. There was already like three years in my life wherein I went to gym for three months and then stop. Then after a year gym again and stop. My butt got bigger a little bit, but then when I stopped, back to reality again. But not my calf that seemed to be a calf of a 10 year old child (that is how bad it is and I am a woman). Now I am doing gym again. Hope I wont stop until I get what I want. Anyone here has a successful story about gaining a little and healthier mass to their legs specifically calves? No Implants... I dont wanna go as desperate as that. Thank You!

i have the same problem. my legs are way too skinny! i hate it when people just tell me "you dont need to gain weight! youre skinny! be happy with what you have!" because hellooooo skinny means underweight! thats not haelthy. anyways, would that make it alright for me to call them overweight?

My brother has really high metabolism too. He actually had to gain weight, before they'd let him into the military, so he went on the butter and doughnuts diet. It could work for you too!

A male reader, kenny United Kingdom +, writes (23 April 2008):

kenny agony auntTry adding protein shakes to you diet, one in the morning, one around lunch time, and one in the evening. Probably the best excersise's to make you legs bigger are sqats and lunges, and seated leg extentions. If you belong to a gym seek the advice of a personal trainer, he/she will go into it in more indepth detail, and provide you with a program.

All the best & good luck x

It's so ironic that there are probably thousands of girls out there who wish they had the skinny legs! All i can suggest is make sure that you are eating healthily, eat lots of protein and maybe do some weight training so you can gain actual muscle mass in your legs. I hope you feel better about your figure soon!
