Hello aunts

I realize this is not a relationship question but I have been diagnosed with ocd/ rumination (excessive) to the point where I get horrible tension headaches and panick.

I am a prisoner of my mind and I go and recheck things and repeat and write things over and over again and it’s embarassing

I have tried all the medications and they have not helped and the other medications make me drugged uo

I have been like this since I was 10 and the contrast worry of saying the wrong things at work ( I imagine I swear or say bad things) is causing me to panic

Does anyone have any advice and natural remedies ? I have tried to stop but I panick when I don’t check or I repeat myself . I feel crazy- has anyone gone through this ? And gotten better at life and managing things

I just want to feel like I am normal

I am so embarrassed

aunt honesty agony auntI agree with honeypie, you really should look in to CBT. There are sure to be plenty of therapists that specialize in this area and will help you learn to control your OCD. It won't be easy but it will be better than feeling like you are drugged up or taking pills that don't work.

Honeypie agony auntCBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) is what you should look into.

Meds might work in tandem with that, for some the meds don't help much. No two people have the same reaction to psychotropics. However, working with CBT you can get the tools to learn to take control of your thoughts. It can be highly effective, but I would suggest you find a therapist who specialize in CBT.

As for natural remedies? I don't know. You could do some reading up on CBT and see what you can learn from that.
