writes: im 18 years old and im starting college tomorrow, im excited but also kinda nervous because i dont know im going to do, i always hated school and hated studying but im pushing myself to go to college to make something of my life. I didnt pick my major yet either there are a few things im thinking about but i dont know, i just want a good job that im going to enjoy ,makes me good money and doesnt require a lot of school.Does anybody have any job ideas?

reader, anonymous, writes (28 August 2012): major in the sciences if you can hack it. things like engineering (mechanical, electrical, biomedical, civil) are good bets,
if those arn't for you, pick something HARD. the harder it is, generally the more valuable it is.
whatever you do, don't just "get a degree to get one" find something that society needs to function, find out how much it pays, and then GO FOR IT :)

Going, and completing, four years at college provides prospective future employers with the certainty that you are willing to stick with what is surely a smart decision..
IF you choose to cut short your college time, you will send a clear message, in the future, to prospective employers, that you are immature and don't have much "stick-to-itivness".... hence, you're not as good a prospect for a job as someone who DID "stick to it" to complete college....
THAT is the primary reason why you - or any OTHER young person - should persevere and attend, and finish, a college degree....
Believe me.... I've been a hiring manager in the past..... and, when I had two prospects... and one had attended and finished a college degree.... and the other hadn't... it made my decision for me!!!!
