Other forms of contraception such as the injection, coil or implant can leave women unable to conceive for up to three years, again depending on many other factors such as age, how long you have been on them etc. The best thing you can do if you are concerned about the length of time pregnancy is taking is go to your GP and any necessary test can be done to see if there are underlying problems or if your system is just slow at returning to normal.

I think the answer here is the fact that you could well be trying TOO hard to get pregnant.
I was on the pill for a long time and when I came off it I got pregnant within 6 weeks but it does vary with everyone.
My mum and dad were trying for children for 10 years but they had got themselves so wound up about getting pregnant that when they said OK it isn't going to happen and lets blow this money we have saved for children to go on a trip around several countries they came home refreshed and wouldn't you know it my mum got pregnant more or less straight away because they were both relaxed.
If you are concerned then you should be talking to doctors and having tests and I mean both you and your partner as it could be either of you, if the tests show that everything is OK then maybe it is finding out when your most fertile time is. My mum said to me that the doctors discovered she was most fertile during her period which is bizarre really but I think the main thing is to relax.
The more you want something the more stressed you get and the fun and enjoyment goes out of the window. You need to relax and that is both of you. You don't want your love making to become too mechanical so just relax and find out the facts first and if they are OK then just spend some quality time together and remember that love making can be truly spectacular if you let go of the stresses of life and just have some good intimate time together.
Wish you luck as I am sure it will happen when you least expect it. Believe me it does happen.
