Currently i cannot have any contact with my wifes family and to be quite honest, this suits me fine.
I met my wife during my divorce to my first wife, she had just escaped from a very abusive r/ship and after a particularly savage beating she had her partner arrested.
They had two children as did i and after we married i brought them up as my own.She didn't go to work as the children were young but i didn't mind because i liked having my meals ready etc.
A couple of years ago finances were tight and we had to lose our house.also we had behavior problems from her eldest boy which escelated when his grandparents sided with him.
From then on i was branded a waste of space and recently after another episode they took everything he said as the truth and i was cut off.To make things worse he admitted that he was lying /exagerating events to them but this changed nothing!
If you've done nothing to warrant their behavior then you cant change them, but you have to think seriously about the future with your boyfriend, as they will put pressure on him to finish it,and he'll be stuck in the middle.
Ask your boyfriend if he knows the reason and if he thinks your r/ship can survive.
