Another is it makes you belligerant. Another thing is it clouds your judment. Ever see the comedy stereotype in movies where people get drunk and find another person attractive enough to have a one night stand yet when sober the next day they are horrified at their choice of partner? Would you say that when drunk that was their true self and what they really wanted?Neither of these are representative of a person's "true self." Alcohol is a type of mind altering drug. Would you say that someone is their true self when their mind is being altered?Sure people can say things when drunk that they would never say when sober. That may not necessarily be their true opinion since like I said, alcohol also clouds your judgment and perception. So if your partner is drunk and says something mean about you that may or may not be his true opinion of you. I mean it might, or it could be due to his perception being altered at that moment from the alcohol.

My response to you is that anything is possible. But in most but not all cases people do not show their true selves other than the self they are not really like. Think of the movie the mask which stared Jimmy carry as the mild mannered banker who when he put the mask on became the hopeless romantic he always he wanted to be to the nth degree. On the other hand when the ruthless gangster put the mask on he became the super bad villain. Being drunk can do that to you. Is there anymore that can be said, maybe i do not know. Good-luck.
