You should think much better about whether you want to take this step because it should not be an impulse! If you are this worried before the act, you are not emotionally and mentally ready. You should be able to talk about sex and your feelings in a relaxed manner and not feel inadequate in any way but instead you are overwhelmed with embarassment and negative thoughts are swarming in your head. There is no need to rush, I can tell you that. Document firstly in order to know what to expect, as you know more you should feel safer and more prepared, you can as well read about other people's first experiences and necessarily about the possible consequences and how to take proper precautions. My advice is to wait for now. Best wishes.
