I think you would have a problem in Germany. The same sex marriage is valid there; and the "heteromarriage" is valid, too. So you commited bigamy for the Germans, that's for sure.
And then, I'm not sure what happens with "homomarriages" in the United States. I know that only some states ALLOW "homomarriages". I'm not sure how many of them RECOGNIZE them, even if two people of the same sex cannot legally marry. You should ask an attorney. But I'm sure you would have trouble in Germany.

I'm not sure what would happen. I understand that, for the sake of international law, marriages valid in one country are valid in all others. That is to say, if you marry in Germany, under German laws, your marriage is valid in the United States and elsewhere.
If you married again, then that is bigamy.
The key here is whether the German marriage is valid in the United States. If it is, then you got yourself a problem.

There is a good article on wikipedia. It seems to suggest that foreign same sex marriages are only recognised in the states of New Mexico, New York and Rhode Island.

But as far as a same sex marriage in another country...I think your in the clear. I don't think that would be considered bigomy. You could probably go online and research it.
Yeah, we all make mistakes, you are absolutely right!
Good Luck with your Man!
