Do you wish that he still had feelings for you, and may secretly want to get back together?
It may be worth examining your reasons for ending the relationship, and seeing if those matters still apply, if it is a situation which could be grown out of, or if it can be built upon. See if it happens again, in which case, I think it could be perhaps that he wants you back.
You may be able to reach an understanding and forge a stronger relationship this time. Examine how you feel, you have the choice to go with it, and see how he feels - or put it down to experience and move on, it could have been just a fleeting thing, though. Maybe one to watch, just to make sure..

reader, anonymous, writes (6 September 2006): First of all, no one will know. He might and might not still have feelings for you. We can't read his mind. Gazing is a very common thing. In fact, I had a split second gaze with my ex the other day, or I watched this girl wait with her luggage at the airport last week for awhile. Doesn't really mean much anyhow.
Only way you'll know for sure is to ask the boy. Rumors and gossip from external sources may or may not be accurate.
