writes: Very quick question here. Certain songs always remind me of my ex! Who broke up with me when he came back off of holiday (I wrote about this in another question). Its been nearly a year now, and I feel like I'm pretty much over it. The only thing is when I hear songs I loved while I was with him brings back so many memories, I dont know how to feel when I hear them. For example one song reminds me of when we first started seeing eachother. Another song reminds me of when we were together and really happy. Another song reminds me of when he was on holiday and I was really worried about how things were going to be when he got back. They all remind me of how I felt at that time and when I hear them I don't know whether to cry or smile. Does this mean I'm not quite over the whole thing yet? Thank you for any opinions/advice.

The list of my "exes" and the songs that remind me of them would be about the size of a Manhattan phone book. If'n I teared up every time I heard a song that I associated with one of "my girls".... I'd be a snivveling idiot most of the day, every day....
Don't give a thought to those old songs. If you MUST, any time that you catch yourself getting emotional, start to hum the lyrics to Randy Newman's "Short People".... that always brings me back to reality!!!!
Good luck....
