Do men say the opposite of what they think?

Question - (20 October 2008) 2 Answers - (Newest, 20 October 2008)
A female France age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I met this guy on the last day of a week trip to Hawaii. He knew I was leaving soon but wanted to get me out for lunch. We did so and had a great time. Really good connection. Over the course of the "date", he suggested numerous times that we should be pen-pals. He even asked me to call him after me return on the mainland. I wasn't sure about calling so I waited a couple of days and emailed him. He hasn't replied. I just don't get it. Of course you cannot expect anything out of a single date with a guy who lives on the opposite side of the planet... but to be pen-pals... which is what HE suggested. So, what you think?
