'Beauty' is word used all too often these days when describing ones opinion of a person based on just their looks alone and ignoring what's actually on the inside.
A lot of people who use that word at face value are vain and shallow minded and those women who are vain and shallow minded think they're too good or above the average man, so I think its more a case of "Why waste my time with her when she's clearly going to knock me back because she thinks she better than the likes of me".

I've never been a head-turner myself, but I'd consider myself above average when it comes to intelligence and I work extremely hard for personal and professional success. With that being said, most 'beautiful people' I've met tend to have mush for brains (I understand I'm generalizing here) - so when I see a beautiful women, I kind of brush off their physical features and take solace knowing they're probably not at the same mental level as me. However, it becomes very unnerving when I meet someone intelligent, successful, AND beautiful. I know it's a ridiculous feeling to hold a grudge against someone for having it all, but that's just the way it is - makes you really wonder, "how lucky can one person get?"

Life in general and some experiences in particular have taught me to be wary of beautiful women, not sure I'd use the word 'intimidated':
The more beautiful the girl, the more high-maintenance she usually is.

Men get intimidated by all kinds of things. And different men get intimidated by different things. Some men are intimidated by beautiful women. Most men like beautiful women. Whether they are intimidated by then or not. The intimidation has more to do with attitude than beauty. Then there is the experience factor. This could go on and on.
