I'm a guy and my fience doesn't think it's fair that she has to wear a ring and I don't... So she's making me wear my band, so we both can be branded until marriage!

Engagement rings, whilst seeming romantic are an indication that the women is no longer "available". Since women now approach men, it would make sense that some women give their man an engagement ring too. Personally speaking, If I were engaged and given one, I'd think it was really sweet and I'd wear it with pride!

 In Spain couples sometimes wear wedding rings before marriage as a symbol of comitment in the Basque country they have special white silver or platinum double rings with sort of string in the middle I think it is a beutiful symbol, anyway if your man likes rings it's not an idiot thing to buy him one some of them atre quite sexy I love silver rings on good looking sun tanned men... Greel silver rings are beautiful and also Spanish silver ones, I found quite pretty silver rings for men in uk and ireland too in Spain women usually buy a very expensive clock instead of a ring to men before marriage but it's up to the couple

When my partner and i got engaged i bought him a braclet and like me with my ring he never takes it off. Its a sign that we are committed to each other. I personally think its up to the individual couple.

 I know there are some footballers and other celebrities who wear engagement rings. Maybe this leans more towards the bling culture, rather than the romantic statement it is intended to be.
To answer your question, No, men do not generally wear engagement rings.

reader, anonymous, writes (13 October 2006): some man really dont wear it they have their own reason why, but just like i have" my boyfriend and me celebrate our engagement day and he buy me a 24 k. of gold and we both wear it, we are now nearly 2 years engage.... but what engagement ring or wedding ring will do? for me the real married is more important than anything else. it will really show us as a woman that a man really love us and really want to stay with us for the rest of his life.good luck my dear... Except when I play the sims2 for pc, when he proposes to the girl he automatically gets one too.. I just figured it was a lil kink in the game.
