A age 30-35, anonymous writes:

i did the stupidest most irresponsible thing ever and messed around with my ex/almost boyfriend again. we are taking some time apart before getting back together so that we dont mess things up the second time around. we hung out today and things got pretty intense. we had of all things, unprotected sex. i know i know, it was sooooo dumb and stupid and irresponsible and i feel horrible about it on so many levels. i started my period yesterday, and idk i guess sex with it is a real turn on for him?

we still both love each other and have only been with each other so i know theres no chance of stds or anything, but im freaking out a little. he pulled out right away, but ended up going back in a little while later. i already know it was dangerous and if anything results from this i deserve it, but should i take the morning after pill? he said hes sure that none of his semen got inside, but im more skeptical. im also worried if i take the pill it will mess up my already really irregular cycles and make me ten times more hormonal than i already am. i have issues with being overly emotional around my period as it is, i dont want to make it worse.

i know theres a million questions already posted like this one, but im really worried. if i just started my period, and he says he didnt cum inside me, should i take the pill? will it mess up my cycle?

If in doubt take the morning after pill.

You have 72 hours after sex to take it.

GO!

Good Luck!! xx

Tisha-1 agony auntI think the best one to ask here is a medical professional. Your doctor, and you should have one if you are sexually active, is the go-to person for this.

Don't have a doctor? Find a clinic near you using plannedparenthood.org, or use your medical insurance company for a referral. Obviously do this today so you can make a decision on this.

You could also go in and talk with the pharmacist about this; they have the expertise and knowledge to give you information about the side-effects of the morning-after pill. Again, do it today. If you are going to take it, it's most effective within 24 hours, after that, the effectiveness drops off, and there are quite a few who get pregnant despite using the pill. It is possible to get pregnant from pre-cum as well as when you are on your period. The chances I imagine are reduced considerably, but it does happen.

You have to weigh the risk/benefit ratio for yourself, and you need someone with medical training to give you the pertinent facts.

Take care, hope it works out for you.

petina1 agony auntIt can be possible to get pregnant during your period. I would do some research on the morning after pill. If you want to start taking the contraceptive pill that usually takes up to two weeks of using it before it is beneficial. Go and talk to your doctor about what you should do if you are worried. Or you could buy a pregnancy test which can detect very early on if you are pregnant. hope this helps.
