writes:Hi ive been with my boyfriend for nearly 4 years and we have a beautiful baby together but recently we've become distant he never compliments me and is always threatening to leave if I dont let him do as he pleases. It was last weekend when I saw an ex in our local pub and he was really nice full of compliments and I havent seen him for years, since then I have started to dream about him all the time and am really hoping that he will be out again at the weekend I dont have his number but wish I did but my boyfriend knows my ex's brother. I thought I loved my boyfriend and would do anything for him but now all this is happening I am not sure, I dont want to throw everyting away just on the off-chance that my ex might be interested advice please??

mel_22 is verified as being by the original poster of the question I want to speak to my ex about this but its difficult my partner will be there and how do I know if he's even interested just after 1 night of compliments and flirting!! Do you think it sounds like my ex might still like me he kept touching my bottom and saying how good I looked?! And what do I say when I do get the chance to speak to him?

The other problem is how do I talk to him when my partner will be there it is such a difficult situation

reader, anonymous, writes (7 February 2007): Having being in a similar situation, I would firstly remember back to why you and your ex broke up in the first place. If it is something you could have worked and you made a great couple, then I would consider talking to him next time you see him and see if the feeling is still there on both sides, or if your vision is just clouded due to present circumstances. Try letting your partner know how you feel about his treatment of you at the moment and see if you can work out some ways to work together, especially for the sake of your daughter. Separation with a child involved is never easy, but neither is living in an unhappy partnership or having regrets over a lost love.
