Ah, lots of wrong info so far.
First Vitamin D. Unless you spend ALL your time in doors and go out in a burqa, you got nothing to worry about. If you go out with your arms exposed for half an hour a day (on your way to work for instance) that is plenty.
Heat also has NOTHING to do with it. You can sunbathe on a ski-slope.
If there is sun, you need to protect your skin, if there is still sunshine on your skin when you go out wear some protection, without the heat you might underestimate just how much exposure you are getting.
Sunglasses with UV protection are also a good idea.
Oh it might seem like a lot of work to do now, but skin-cancer is on the increase world-wide and dying ain't all it is cracked up to be.

I'd say you probably don't have to but if you're worried it doesn't hurt to do it. If you applied around 5pm you'll probably be fine still.

you could go for a lower one at more frequency. it depends on how hot it is and how quick you burn
