A male Hungary age 36-40, anonymous writes:

hello everyone

i had some physical problem so my family doctor prescribed me the urine and blood test which also included the HIV test. Although the reports are negative but i am deeply worried whether the lady in the pathology changed the syringe while taking my blood sample. my anxiety has reached to the extent where i feel like screaming and going crazy and crying out loud. i keep consoling myself that nothing was wrong but it doesnt help. i am quite sure that she already had the needle in her hand and she just took out the new syringe from the plastic wrapper but not the needle. so this fear is haunting me that i might get HIV and has made my life miserable. i know this is unlikely to happen as they are also responsible but when i tell this to anyone, they think i am silly or convience me that i am needlessly worrying too much. idk, but i have become overconsious and over sensitive to my body and my heart is beating fast constantly and i feel dull fever although the temperature is normal. do i have anxiety disorder ? i dont have any assistance or courage regarding how to go about all this as its beyond our family has ever come across. i feel i am going crazy constantly thinking about that. will it fade with time ? please help

aunt honesty agony auntFirst off it is not silly to behave the way you do. When we get some idea in to our head we start making ourselves believe that something is true and start seeing little things that didnt happen at all. I think the best thing you can do is visit your doctor and tell them what has been happening to you. I dont think that you have a disorder i just think that you worried yourself so much over having hiv that when it came back negative you are feeling that something is not right and you are panicking over it. Talk to your doctor and they can make further arrangements to get you the help that you need. They may suggest therapy. Goodluck.
