Yes! In fact, every one is guilty of opening their mouth before speaking.
I question if he said that because he's afraid of losing you due to his severe anxiety.
It's just something he said, it doesn't mean start looking at wedding swatches..Give your relationship more time and evidence (such as a ring) before you start thinking about marriage.

males and females are both just as guilty of coming out with crap! Your boyfriend's statement "sometimes I want to marry you so I can keep you forever" may simply be him testing the water ... He's insecure and wants to see how you'll respond, but you cannot assume that's what he means.
Having said that, it may just be a (dangerous) throw-away line. A year and a half isn't a long time, you still have much to learn about one another. His severe anxiety, for which I hope he is seeking/receiving help, is already taking a toll on your young relationship. You're obviously a very understanding person, but it can't feel good when your boyfriend tells you he can't be around you (or presumably anyone else) for too long, because he gets "frustrated" ... How does this frustration manifest itself? It's not a stable foundation for a marriage, is it? Did you know him before he suffered from severe anxiety?
One thing is for sure, when the day comes when someone asks you to marry them, you won't be in any doubt that you've been asked. The clue is in the question!
I wish you happiness, health and a peaceful life.

Yes, but this one thing he's been thinking for a while. He's of two minds yet.
