A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

do guys prefer experienced or inexperienced girls? im nearly 20 and lost my virginity and did alot of "sexual exploring" with my first boyfriend when i was 16 but thats it. ive kissed guys but havnt felt ready to do anything more untill now, but now im worried that if i tell a guy its been (eek!) over 3 years, they'll run a mile thinking i wont be any good, but if i dont tell, they'll expect me to be better than i am and i'll be a big disappointment!

what should i do, should i tell them im inexperienced and then watch their arse flying back out of the door, or do i not say anything and risk being a big disappointment? do most guys care about a girls level of experience?

thanks!!

Don't spend another second thinking about it. There will be people far more experienced than you, and people far less experienced. People think because I'm a good looking guy that I've had a good few partners, and 'know my way around' so to speak, but Im just as useless as I was when I was 16! I don't worry about it though, it's pointless - everyone else on the planet's having sex, why's it such a big deal??

Personally if I found out that my girlfriend was inexperienced I'd feel special that she had chosen me.

Farris agony auntOnly make love with someone who you know you could tell all this to and have them not run away.

I only lost my virginity when I was 18. It doesn't matter what you've done with who, or how long ago. What matters is you're there in the moment with someone you really like.

As for the question of experience, I think that some guys would be intimidated by girls that have been with *lots* of others, but at the end of the day, it's different for each guy. If the guy you like really likes you back, then it should make any difference to them about your past.

Good luck!

nicola79 agony auntWhy do you need to say anything? Well I wouldnt. Remember when you make love next it will be with someone new so neither of you are expecting too much. I think men in an ideal world would like it if they were the only person that has been with you, deep down men wont want to go out with someone who has put it about all over the place.

I know if you go to a night club there are loads of blokes who want a one night stand, but there are not many who will stay with you after(why buy it when you can get it free).

That is your personal buisness and if he did ask you just say that you would rather not talk about it, he can then make his own mind up.

I wish you all the best, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'd say nothing. Personally speaking it can work both ways...

Experience can be very good, but i'd hate to be with a girl that had "put it about". Sexual experience can be gained from just one or two relationships - it doesnt mean to say that either sex has to sleep around to gain that experience.

Similarly, inexperience isnt a bad thing either. Depending on what 'exploring' you've done, i wouldnt worry. Just let things flow and take it easy!
