reader, anonymous, writes (11 January 2009): I don't regard girls who like horse riding as snobby, but it does often seem that 'horsey' girls are far more interested in horses than anything else, including relationships.
I have seen it many times with friends who have to play 'second-fiddle' to their partner's horses. All of this means that I'd advise any guy who asked me about getting involved with a horsey girl that she would more than likely give more attention to the horses than she would to him.
No doubt there are exceptions to this, but I thought I'd tell you what I've observed anyway.

Im a horsey girl and proud :) I dont think its snobby, sure it costs a bomb etc but if they saw us cleaning out stalls and grooming muddy horses.
However I dont tend to highlight the fact I ride, because some of the immature ones seem to think the best insult to throw is.. er.. something along the lines of sexual relations with my horse. Stupid I know but thats guys. Oh I just checked you age! I should hope your friends have grown out of that stage. If your good im sure they would be impressed. Just say it tones up your legs and gives you a tigher grip ;) Good luck xx

 Guys like girls who are interesting and have interesting hobbies. Horse riding is an interesting hobby, you cant go wrong.

Some guys will think it's snobby, some will think it's really cool.
As long as the girl doesn't go on and on and on about it as some horsey girls are prone to do, then she should be fine.
