This comes down to personal preference. As a man, I absolutely love women with raven-black hair! Thank God you're around! Seeing one in the bus or on the street will make my day.
In my teenage years, I always wanted to date such girls, so I was quite nervous around them. Guess what? Blondes were more attracted to me, because I was relaxed and pretty confident around them (while many other guys chased them).
For a long-term relationship, there are many things more important than hair colour, like being with someone whose personality and character fit yours. My wife is a brunette. She is 41 and she still looks like a maid; lucky me!

Generally as long as it's healthy and well-maintained, I don't think the colour itself matters. Mine is naturally curly and reddish-brown. I had it straightened and dyed blonde for a while. I'd be hard pressed to say which was really more popular...most guys liked it either way.

I've had crushes on a couple of females before with black hair~ it can look really sexy :)
When i was with my ex boyfriend, i dyed my (naturally brown)hair all kinds of colours- purple, black, blonde, red... and he never said how he prefered one colour more than another ^_^

I prefer black hair, myself. All that matters is growing long - mid-back, at least.
Most guys I know see hair more as an accessory than a determining factor. If it goes well with the rest of her, it's great, no matter the color. Outright preference for one color is not something I see that often. But again, long hair is always better.
There are some traits that are preferred much more often than not; I just don't think hair color is one of them.

There are no traits that are universally attractive or not attractive.

I'm a lady, straight - but I find that black hair is the most stunning, gorgeous hair. I can't speak from a man's perspective, but as a simple aesthetic viewer - black hair is sleek, sexy and goes with every outfit.

Jet Black is difficult to find naturally most hair is like eyes at most a very dark brown. sunlight reveals the truth.
I tend to find girls with very dark hair to be exeptionally attractive because they have this exocticness them I think some eastern Europeans, Asians and latinas tend to have that dark hair.
Also strangely i like that whole gothic look. Personally i find red hair and very dark hair to be the most attractive. Blond i find to be interesting but i feel like ill get it dirty if i run my fingers through it.

A guy should like you for who you are and what you look like. No one who really cares about you should ask you to change how you look. Be patient, enjoy your teen years ( bc they go soooo fast!!) and the right guy will come : )

Any guy who doesn't like you just because of the color of your hair doesn't deserve to be with you. I agree everything Cerebus says - women call in all shapes, sizes and colors and that makes us all unique.

My fiance loves black hair... long and staight.. he hates blondes...
is your hair jet black naturally or do you dye it... because hair DYED black looks way phony often without some subtle highlights in it...

The same applies to blondes and redheads. Guys find something about all girls to find attractive it's they way we roll.

OP we find pretty much all types of girl attractive. Big, small, short, tall, red hair, black hair, big boobs, small boobs, long legs, short legs. Seriously all types.
Does hair colour on a guy matter that much to you? I'm sure you can think of lots of different guys with different hair colours and styles that you find attractive, we'll we guys are the same.
