 don't expect anything amazing, lets face it, nobody looks great down there; male or female, but what gives you pleasure doesn't need to look great. I'm guessing she'l be slightly if not a fair bit nervous too, so don't mension anything when your doing it and have finnished or this could affect her confidence and make her more self concious.
As for the smell thing, i find i'm fine once i've had a quick clean in the shower but after an hour or so it tends to gradually smell, not bad but just slightly. I'm sure she'l get a bit of a wash for your first time but if not have a drink handy or even like the others have suggested some flavoured lube.
