On the other hand plenty people end up with others completely unrelated to their jobs and are more than happy. May I suggest it is something else about those you pick not their career, perhaps you will find the clash in the personality department?
I am an animal behaviour consultant and my partner is an air conditioning engineer, we work just great - same amount of argument as anyone else -ha!
