its normal as you develop. the same happend to my wife when we first met. and as she got older more came out. she too was shy about it and didn't like the change, look in porn mags and see the differant type.
i think the outer type is much more of a turn on than an inner type for a guy. Dr will operate if it cause major issues for you but i think you are very normal

If you are worried you can always speak with your GP but I can assure you he will tell you that everything is fine down there.
