A female Venezuela age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I met a guy over the internet, and I like him very much, we have already set a date to have a coffee or something next week... Untill now I haven`t found any big red flags, and we have been talking a lot, and everything is great so I was feeling quite safe.. But trough some things I find out today browsing on internet, it seems that the group of friends he is in, has had some BIG problems with the police, and are not the best people to be around, though it seems that he is quite clean... So, now I am a little worried, you know, "birds of a feather do flock together"...So, what would you do in my case, would you still date him, or you better pass?

Chances are if his friends are involved with the police, he is as well. Stay well away.

Umm yes, birds of a feather typically do flock together. He may not be as "bad" as his friends or he just hasn't gotten caught. Also, if you do start seeing him, that means that you'll possibly be around those people and you'll probably be a little uneasy when you know he's hanging out with them. I would steer clear of it just because I've given guys the benefit of the doubt thinking, "He's his own person and seems to be the decent one out of the bunch," yeah, I was wrong.
