SEX IS FOR MAKING BABIES! That is what it is for!
If you aren't old enough to know whether or not your hymen has broken or what a condom is, how not to spread disease or what contraception is, you should NOT be experimenting with sex! Your friend probably still has her hymen, so technically, she is still a virgin - and if she IS 10 or 12 years old - still a child.
It isn't a game and it has life changing consequences!!! Please talk to your friend about the poor choices that she is making for herself. Wait until you are old enough to understand ALL of the consequences and responsibilities that an adult accepts when they have sex. If she has her period, she could become a Mother before she has a pelvic girdle large enough to give birth, not to mention the necessary income and knowledge to take care of a baby.
Having sex at 12 does not make a girl a woman or a boy a man. It's as ludicrous as seeing a ten year old with a cigarette in their mouth. It doesn't make you a grown up. You will have about 70 years to be an adult - and only 12 to be a child. Don't be in such a hurry.

she is till very young and obviously not ready for this; neither is her body!
Also warn her to think about things such as STD's, AID'S and pregnancy.

reader, anonymous, writes (21 June 2008): When you're a virgin it means you have not recieved penetration. Because this was not penetration she did not loose her virginity.
She should wait a few years before doing this again. Her body obviously isn't ready yet. It would really hurt and Lexilou is right, she could become pregnant if he puts himself inside her even if he does not come.

 Doesn't sound like she lost her virginity - but they came pretty close.
Don't be having sex at your age though! You haven't even hit puberty, your bodies are fully developed and you don't know the repercussions of having sex.
Wait until you're older before you start experimenting again!

 No I dont think this could be classed as losing her virginity. She must not do this again she could still get pregnant if the boy is producing sperm as a little can leak out even if he doesnt have full sex. So if its anywhere near her vaginal area there is always a small chance it will result in pregnancy. If your friend is your age then please realise you are way way to young to be experimenting like this x

 i would say not as their wasnt full penetration. but intercourse is something you shouldnt be attempting at your age as you are young and your bodies are not fully developed yet. you should learn more about your own bodies before even contemplating learning someone elses. hope that helps aphex
