And about a week ago I read a text to her that he sent about a very sexual dream he had about her..war did that mean?? (and he never has those dreams about me) so I told him if u want to continue a relationship with me, u need to cut ties with this girl...And he willingly did.was this the right move??I just followed my heart....

Be sure to understand that it's possible he'll just cover his tracks better from now on, and keep on doing those same things. Plenty of guys do.
If, like me, you feel like being lied to would be even worse than the fooling around, then you need to make it clear that you will accept him for what he is as long as he is honest with you.

I guess there is no textbook right and wrong answer, but i can tell you that i definately would have done the same. in fact i have done in the past. if you allowed him to get away with this, it would only have gone further. good luck x

Yes, you did. He's with you, and not her. And he should respect that and leave her in the past. You did the right thing.
