As someone who knows a number of truly psychically talented people, I urge you to stay away from the "commercial" services. They are, as far as I know, all scams. They have scripts, and even if the psychic KNOWS the advice they are giving is wrong they are required to give what the company wants or they are out of work.
It's possible that you might find someone actually working for themselves on line or over the phone these days who is the genuine article, but it is rare.
The best way to contact someone who is really able to do you some good is probably to contact a nearby "new age" shop or something like that. They usually have people associated with the shop, or know of people, who have some talent along those lines. They tend to weed out the bad ones pretty quickly, too. If the shop has been in business for a while (that's where your four-year-old phone book comes in very handy!) and you go there and they recommend someone, you can tell that it's probably worth giving them a try.
And remember, a psychic's work is a cooperative experience between the psychic and the client. You've got to find one who is "tuned in" to you, and who uses a medium (astrology, tarot, etc.) that you feel comfortable with.
I can probably tell you more privately if you'd like. It's a complex subject.

I was in nyc, I had stepped out of the bar I was at, and she had a table out on the street right infront of her psychic "store." So she asked me if I wanted a free reading. I was hesitant but then I did it. I just sat down and she read my palm. I think she said that I was dating someone who had a hard time expressing himself and a few other things. For the most part everything she said was positive but not necessarily true. My boyfriend at the time really didn't have a hard time expressing himself.
I don't think anyone knows you as well as you know yourself. I think psychics are just con artists really.

I am not going to get into the whole psychic debate in terms of whether it works or not. There has never been any conclusive scientific proof of psychic ability but, then, there are many things we still don't understand about human ability so who knows? That is a matter of personal belief I suppose and I know several people who believe in psychic ability. However, with absolute certainty I can say there will be many people online posing as psychics who will be happy to take your money to tell you what you want to hear. There are many scams around!
It is largely an unregulated industry and anyone can set themselves up as a psychic. There will no doubt be some genuine people out there who 'may' have special abilities but I rather suspect if they are that good, they don't have to advertise their services very much online as they should get their clients from reputation and word of mouth. Just be careful.
