A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Im 24 and ive been dating my gf for awhile now, she is only 15 and i love her more than anyone ive ever been with including my ex fiancee and she tells me shes in love with me to. Is it foolish to think this truly is love that she could be my soulmate? Also, for some reason her mom isnt too fond of me. If her and i were to have sex would her mom be able to say anything about it?

LustyMisa agony auntIf you really love her and she's your soulmate then its worth waiting for (whats a few years now if you spend the rest of your lives together after all?)

Between the right people, any kind of age difference is meaningless, if theyre truly right for each other. Any parent is going to be protective of their child, take the time to prove you're in it for the right reasons, after all if you two are together for the long haul her mom will be in your life a long time too!

billy bilou agony auntPlease don't feel guilty for falling in love with a girl much younger than you. Love knows no barriers. However, I find that the others are perferctly right. You should not be in a hurry to have sex with her if you do not want to get trouble with law. I'm sure her mother will not spare you if you decide to have sex with her, maybe it will be the golden opportunity for her to get you out of the life of her daughther.

Yes, if her mother found out you had sex with a 15 year old you could possibly go to jail. Also by law you would be forbidden to be with her again.

A male reader, Illithid United States +, writes (4 January 2010):

Illithid agony auntThat's a pretty big age difference at that age. It's also an illegal age. Regardless of what state you're in, I don't believe there's one in the union where you couldn't be thrown in jail for sleeping with a 15 year old when you're 24. If her mother already dislikes you, be extremely careful.

I won't say that it's impossible for you two to be together forever, but it's statistically unlikely. If you truly do believe she's your soulmate, though, then she's worth waiting for. Do NOT have sex with her until it's legal in your state to do so. It is MUCH better to wait a while, years even, before sleeping with her if she's going to be your wife, than it is to be facing some serious legal problems ranging from placement on a sex offenders list up to even significant jail time.

If you love this girl, really truly love her, then wait for her. On the one hand, it will avoid jail, and on the other it will show her mother that you DO respect this girl as more than just a sex toy. If you CAN'T wait for her, ask yourself if you really love her or just her body.
