And just to add, you and your partners should be screened for other STDs as well.
It's time to get proactive and smart about protecting your health as well as the health of your partners.

Go see your doctor.
And stop having sex with someone who "claims" to be "cured" by accident from an STD.
Usually (I guess that depends on your doctor) but.. usually Chlamydia used to be treated by a single HUGE dose of a certain type of antibiotic or smaller doses for 5 days. If someone had another infection it's not likely going to cure both.
If you are unsure, GO see your doctor. Chlamydia is no joke. You can end up becoming infertile if you go untreated for too long, not to mention ectopic pregnancies etc. It's no joke.
And any partner you have had while thinking you may have had it, needs to be notified (after you have been diagnosed that is) so they don't go around spreading it to other unsuspecting partners.

It's possible but highly unlikely - there are lots of different types of antibiotics which target specific organisms. They don't kill all bacteria - just certain ones.
For example sore throats are usually caused by streptococcus bacteria and would require different antibiotics to staphylococcus bacteria which commonly cause skin and wound infections and a totally different antibiotic would be required for a urine infection.
There are some "magic bullet" antibiotics but these are mainly used in hospital to fight super-bugs (ones that have become resistant to the well-known antibiotics). It's doubtful you would be prescribed this type of antibiotic to treat a treat a relatively common complaint such as tonsillitis.
In addition, the dose, frequency and length of the course of treatment depends on the type and location of the infection. So you might have to take an antibiotic for 3 days to treat one type of infection (for example) but you might need to take the same antibiotic for 2 weeks to treat a different infection.
And on top of all that, bacteria are hardly little buggers and constantly evolve to outwit antibiotics and the recommended treatments are often changing. Large NHS hospitals receive updated information about which antibiotic treatments are the most effective every six months.
So, in short, you can't rely on antibiotics prescribed for another reason to treat chlamydia. You need to seek specific treatment from your GP or local sexual health clinic.

As Chlamydia is a bacterial infection, if you took the correct antibiotic, it might treat it.
However, and this is rather key, unless the sex partner who passed along the Chlamydia is treated as well, you can get it again from them. Also, you should notify any sex partners that you had Chlamydia as well, so proper treatment can be started.
So go see your doctor if you are puzzled by this.

If you didn't know you had an STD and then cured it then you would never even find this out as you wouldn't have known about it in the first place before you 'cured' it.
