Could this slight bleeding be 'implantation bleeding'?

Question - (18 December 2007) 2 Answers - (Newest, 18 December 2007)
A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

My girlfriend had her last period on the 26th of November, we had sex on the 5th of December. She still hasn't got her period but for the last four days [Sat,sun, mon and 2day], she's bleeding slightly [pale red colour]. She did took the pill 1hour later after we had sex. I want to know whether this 'slight bleeding' may actually be 'implantation bleeding'? And is it the proper time to take a pregnancy test?

witch-fire agony auntThere's only one way to be certain if you're girlfriend is pregnant. You can take pregnancy tests as early as a few days after sex nowadays. Some periods can be late or irregular. If this is the problem you could try the pill.

Another thing it could be is if she was already on the pill, has she accidently missed one or taken it at a different time of the day? That can make periods irregular, cause discharge (the pale red colour?) or even start earlier than usual. I found this out from experience not long ago. Hope this helps.
