bronzed adonis agony auntAfter answering once, I am coming back to this because just five minutes after I heard a radio interview from a Ugandan girl who was lured to the UK and then used as a sex slave.

bronzed adonis agony auntIt`s probably a scam. I think they are wanting to steal your money, and you wont even get a visa and a work permit. Research the company properly and if need be, report them.

It's a scam and they may be sex traffickers. There's no way that anyone in the UK would advertise a job like this and they definitely would not do it online.

I have worked for incredibly wealthy people in the past and helped them to find domestic staff. They would always look for staff by using an elite agency who deal only in highly trained staff and the pay would be much, much more than what is being offered in this advertisement. Either this, or they would take a "word of mouth" recommendation from people that they know and who have used these staff but maybe don't need them anymore because their children have grown up or they move abroad etc.

In any case, anyone wealthy enough in the UK to pay for someone to do all of the roles that are advertised would definitely not expect the person to pay for their own work permit etc. They simply wouldn't employ someone who did not already have this all sorted out and usually any extra costs would be paid for by the employer.

Do NOT get in touch with this company. They are probably sex traffickers.

Yes it's a scam. Me and my partner have thought about hiring someone in this position, and it has never crossed our mind to get someone overseas to come here- why go through all that hassle? There are a lot of people here who are looking for this sort of work. This is definitely a scam, looks like they're after your money.

Mark1978 agony auntAs a UK resident, I don't know of anyone who would actually have someone do that type of job. It sounds like something out of a 1920s set Keira Knightly film, or the period TV drama Downton Abbey!

Im sure that kind of role exists, but very, very few people would have that kind of person.

£1200 per month is not great for doing all that work either, and the UK is very expensive. Even if legit you would probably be expected to work in conditions, hourly rate, etc which is illegal. Many immigrants are exploited in that way.

Sadly a lot of scams involve bring women in from abroad to work in that type of job, who are then recruited into the sex industry or kept as sex slaves.

Its either a financial scam, or a scam to get women to come to the UK to work in the sex industry.

They could be people traffickers..... you could end up a slave.. for sex, domestic labour.. forced labour somewhere else in another part of Europe in fact... Anyone who asks for money up front like this is either looking to steal your money and run and/or take the money, get you into the country and then sell you... be very careful...

A male reader, anonymous, writes (3 June 2014):

well if htye are asking you to send them money for the visa then yes it's a scam , however if they are just asking for you to pay for one and handle the actual getting it and form filling yourself then it isn't

Daisy_Daisy agony auntOP, it costs £289 for a visa, and then it's only valid for 6 months, at which point you'd have to return home.

Even if it's not a scam, you may end up being a slave to this family. http://news.sky.com/story/1250076/slavery-becomes-big-business-in-britain

I'd ignore the advert. If you want to move to the UK, do your research. You are more likely to get a visa if you are skilled. There's no quick or easy way around emigrating to the UK, if you are doing it legally.

sugarplum786 agony auntIts a scam. If they are prepared to pay for the flight and visa why not the work permit. Don't get caught, you will lose your money
