For the past week or so I have had an extremely bad cold, my older brother also has it (he is 16, I am 13) and I think I caught it from him. Now I am feeling really hot all the time, and my brother has started throwing up. I have taken paracetamol and cough medicines and they still haven't had any affect. Although the paracetamols have made me feel slightly less hot. We are arranging a doctor's appointment soon, I would just like to hear some insight before I go. I have gotten the impression there is a slight chance it could be swine flu? Please please please help me! Reply to this Question Share |

Woah woah woah!
What's with all these people saying that you should GO AND SEE your doctor.
If you think you have a contagious bug then wandering into a waiting room full of vulnerable old people with weak immune systems is the LAST thing you should do.
DO NOT GO ANYWHERE. STAY AT HOME!!!!
Call NHS Direct or go to their website and they will be able to help.
Good Luck!! xx

Please forgive me for not answering and instead directing you to this post, however ArmyMedic (respectable uncle on DC) has given all the info I think you will need at the very bottom of the page.

You've made an appointment, good. Only a doctor can say. The chances that you have swine flu are pretty slim, so I wouldn't worry about it. Just calm down and get to bed til you see the doctor :)
