Why would there be a disadvantage with the ages? Age doesn't matter, but level of maturity, wanting the same things, having the same values, all those things matter.
Age only matters if it prevents you from having what you want. If you want a child then it wouldn't be advised to date a 40 year old woman as she is not likely to be able to give you a family, or a 40 year old man for that matter as he'll be quite old when the child grows up. And if you want to move in with your partner it is difficult if he's 16 and still lives at home and has no real job/education/financial means.
Other than things like that, why would age matter?
