writes: Hello agony aunts and uncles out there,So I slept with my partner without using a condom, because I'm on the pill. (We were both just recently checked on STD and such in order to be able to do so..) That was the 1st/2nd July (night/morning), being the 8th/9th day of my cycle, so the 8th/9th pill.Yesterday evening, 4th of July, I had to start taking antibiotics with 150mg Trimethoprim, and the package insert says it could have some effects on the pill. It is very clear to me that for the time I take the medication as well as at least 7 days after that, I will have to use other means of contraception, but my question now is:Could the antibiotics have an effect on previously taken pills, i.e. before I started to take the antibiotics, or does it really only affect the pills I take afterwards?I would be very grateful for help and advice since I am worried now.... And I know that it's quite adjudgable that we were ... yeah well. Stupid, in some way. But I would still be grateful if the stress would actually lie on some advice... I already have an appointment with my doc, but I just want to inform myself beforehand, too.(and no. We won't sleep with each other without a condom again, because we both noticed that we felt uneasy doing so ....)
