A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Ok, here goes......

I'm a 25 year old lesbian, I work with a women in her 40s, she doesn't know I am gay and I personally wouldn't have said she was but she seems flirty with me? How can I tell if she's into me? She spoils me giving me free stuff, doing all she can to help, cuts corners for me at work so I don't have to do stupid courses, goes all sweet n girly when we talk to one another.......does any of this hint she's into me? Or am I reading into it? She's not my boss exactly but she's senior to me. She remembered stuff I tell her in casual conversations, yet we never used to talk that often prob once every 6 weeks, now its sometimes twice a day! She sends me pics of stuff she does out of hours without me asking her too, then I texted her once but she never replied? Help.......!

Many straight women develop friendships that sound exactly like what she is trying tio build with you. She seems maternal. Almost treating you like a favorite daughter.

Relationship.Chef agony auntHere's a crazy thought. Talk to her!

Ask her out for a cup of coffee (even on a lunch break) and calmly tell her that you greatly appreciate all the attention, and, while you like her (and it's clear that you at least enjoy all the attention) you don't want your relationship to impact your work environment.

And after that, ask her to have a drink with you later that night.
