writes: hi this may seem like a strange question but.. i was with my b/f for 10 yrs and it was a really bad relationship i had very irregular periods i could go 3 months without one and had regular abnormal smears, we broke up for about two years and hey ho i had a period every 5 weeks and 2 clear smears, we decided to give it another go and my period didn't come for 7 weeks could it be him causing the abnormal smears and period problems? x

reader, anonymous, writes (5 April 2009): The abnormal periods could be caused from stress. If your relationship with your bf was very stressful then yes this could have caused this. I am not sure about the pap smears though, I have never heard of abnormal ones due to stress or a man or anything. For this you should ask your gyn.
