reader, anonymous, writes (11 August 2011): I don't know much about std's to be quite honest with you..so apologize if I sound ignorant, and I'm speaking out of turn.. but maybe he did get it from another girl, but he got it from her before you two were together..was he ever sexually involved with another girl before you? maybe that could be it. I don't know, and I wouldn't take my word for it if I were you. but don't jump to any conclusions. I'd suggest you tell him about it, and talk it through. see where it could have started.

reader, anonymous, writes (9 August 2011): Just to let you know, the standard STI screenings don't do a blood antibody test for Herp#2 or Herp#1. They don't test for it at all unless the person specifically requests for these tests.

Well from what ive read about 'Herpes II' is that it can lie dormant for some time and then certains factors such as stress, mentstrual cycle etc can trigger it. He very well could have gave you it or a previous partner. If he is the only person you have had sexual contact/intercourse with then he could have given you it without knowing he had it himself. Its possibly been lying dormant in him too, it is possible that this happens.
All i would advise you is to sit down and speak with him, Dont jump to conclusions about cheating though as that will make you paranoid and it will affect your relationship as he will think you dont trust him.
