They used to have sex very often and with out a condom, but recently they have cut back on how much they do it and use a condom every time. She's never been pregnant before.Since her last period they have had sex three times, each time he wore a condom and they double checked after wards that the condom didn't break.A few weeks ago she had a yeast infection and took medicine to make the infection go away. She was supposed to start her period on a Thursday,On Monday she got what she thought was her period, except what came out was a kind of brown color. After having that for three days, a very small amount of blood came out, then her "non-period" ended. She is now about five days late for her actual period. So here are my questions...1: Could the medication for her yeast infection cause her period to be late?2: Is it possible that the three days of brownish liquid was her period this month and was just different cause of the infection or medicine?3: Is there any other advice i should tell her about this situation? She asked me for advice, and i have no idea what to tell her. Help please.

Just to be on the safe side, she could repeat the test in a couple of days. Some times the level of beta-HCG hormones is too low to be detected by the test before you are 7-8 days late ,and may give a false negative.

Is your friend absolutely sure there's no chance she may be pregnant ?
If I were her, I'd take a pregnancy test anyway-
these brownish discharges are quite common in the very first weeks of pregnancy when the fertilized egg is implanting itself in the womb.
