Could I somehow have gotten herpes from my mom?

hey cupid, its that time again :D

right, so, my mother has herpes from a previous partner and has had it for years. she told me this recently and explained how she had it and how she took care of it (as well as how pissed she was at having it and the person who had it and didnt tell her)

Okay, small diversion here, but its relevant....

Whenever it comes time for me to get rid of the hair down there, i always shave around the outside in a circle and then use a pair of scissors to trim the rest of the hair down. i have done this for years.

Recently, i did my whole shaving/cutting thing and found a small red circle, like a burst spot, sort of hidden in the midst of the hair. Now here's my dilemma; could this be a herpes bliser? i havent had any of the symptoms of herpes (cos i checked on the internet) and even though my mother takes exceptional care to look after her problem, is there a chance i could have caught it from her? she has explained that i couldnt get it unless i touched one of the blisters and it popped and i then didnt wash my hands etc (which would never happen cos thats pretty gross :S )

so just to reiterate, could this one (there is only one of them) small spot0like thingy be a herpes blister or could it be an in-grown hair or something far less harmful?

please please help.

Much obliged :D

I get those too, ALOT! Its not herpes . . its a hair bump/ingrown hair. All you have to do is takes some tweezers & pull the hair out & then it'll go away in a couple days : )

dmartin89 agony auntSounds very much like an ingrown hair.

Just pop the spot and pull out the hair from under the skin with tweezers. I get these quite often from shaving.

That sounds like an ingrown hair to me. If you only have one and its in a area that u *shave* its probably an ingrown hair.

If** it is an ingrown hair you want to pop it and get the hair out of there.

Its unlikely that you would have caught herpes from your mom, if she ONLY has genital herpes.

Natalie:) agony auntit doesn't sound like herpes just in ingrown hair. I'd still go to the doctor about it for a confirmation and maybe take this little scare as be careful not to share stuff with your mum that could lead to you catching it
