writes: i'm a 27 year old lady and had sex for the first time with my boyfriend. i did not feel much pain and did not bleed and my vagina didnt expand that much. could i have lost my virginity or not.also i started taking the pill the 5 hours after sex, i had not taken any pill before that, are there chances that i might be pregnant?

I'm no expert but I would say that you are'nt a virgin anymore but you need to go get a pregnancy test or visit a gynacologist anyways just to be safe.

reader, anonymous, writes (21 April 2008): He may not have put it in all the way (feeling pressure, he may have stopped there and tried not to go further past this point, not wanting to hurt you), so there is a chance you could still be a virgin, but I am no expert either.
I've heard your suppose to take the pill prior to sex so that the body can adjust to work. How long this takes, I do not know.

If he put his penis inside you then you are no longer a virgin.
Most pills protect you as soon as you start taking them but you left it pretty fine. Plus you are supposed to start taking it at a specific time sometimes.
You will probably be ok but you might want to see a doctor and see if he would recommend the morning after pill. This can be taken up to 3 days after you have sex.
