writes: i had sex on the 1st and 4th of feb and my period is about 28 days cycle. i had my period on 13 jan, after this sex i was waiting for my period which should be coming on 11 of feb. but it does not come, also i felt it is coming my breast is sore and tender, swelling at some how, plus my period is not coming. i drank alcohol and took a chinese medicine to miscarriage on the 17 of feb. on that night i feel cramping and pain in my low back and my pelvic, the blood was red at first then start to get darker. also i saw something come out from my virgina. now i took a pregnancy test and it says negative. is it a sign of miscarriage? or is it a sigh of spotting of being pregnant? can i still be pregnant because the test is not always 100% right.

reader, anonymous, writes (6 March 2010): The longer you are into the possible pregnancy the more accurate the test would be because of increasing hormone levels, so I suggest take the test again and then you will know if you are pregnant. Very early term miscarriages are actually very common and its quite possible thats what you had. Take the test, twice if you have to, its easier than going to a doctor.
