writes:So im in 9th grade, im 13(but look 15-16, occording to alot of people)and this girl that asked me if i wanted to go out with her is 16(but looks like 14-15 to me) and were both getting along good, but shes sending me pretty strange messages about how close she wants to be to me, for instance, she alwase wants to hug me whever we have to leave eachother, and one time during lunch i had to sit quite a distance from her because some guy was sitting in between us,and two more on the other side of me, so i couldnt sit next to her, and she asked me why im sitting all the way over there, but then whenever were standing outside waiting for school to start, she stands like 3-4 feet away from me, and one time i tryed to get close to her, and during a hug i layed one of my hands lightly on her neck/cheek with my other arm around her back in a normal hug posision, and she didnt really jerk away but she cut the hug alot shorter than she normally does. She may just be aware of the age gap. Why don't you try talking to her gently, to make sure she's okay in this relainship. Also, she mght be shy, so take your time getting to know her and just take it slow.
