It is so confusing when people throw comments about you. I have just started work in a new place and so far three women have told me I have a CHEEKY smile. I just don't know how to take it, whether it is a good thing (complement) or not! Can someone out there help me explain what a CHEEKY smile is, please! Thanks guys.

Thanks for all the responses. At least I can now relax and guess that they don't mean wrong to me. At first I never knew how to respond, I had to pretend I had heard nothing. Many thanks.

A female reader, k_c100 United Kingdom +, writes (16 May 2011):

k_c100 agony auntIt is a good thing, dont worry! It just means that when you smile, you look a bit cheeky, and the word 'cheeky' means a little bit naughty, mischevious, bold, saucy, brazen....that type of thing.

So generally, when you smile, you must look a little bit naughty and these girls have obviously noticed, and like it. Often when girls talk about a man's cheeky smile it means they find that smile and the way you look attractive, because it indicates you are a bit mischevious and could be naughty.

Now that might not be true, you could be a shy quiet person but your smile indicates otherwise to these girls. And as you know, some girls like a bad boy and being a bit cheeky is often associated with being a bit cocky, arrogant and a bit of a bad boy. As I said - that might not be true and your personality might be totally different, but your smile is saying something different to these girls!

Try not to worry, these girls obviously like your smile so they are not insulting you!

I hope this helps and good luck!
