Circumcision :- to do or, not to do. That is the question

Question - (17 February 2011) 4 Answers - (Newest, 17 February 2011)
A male United States age 41-50, *xplorer writes:

well here goes I am an non-circumcised male and love making has never been a problem but i recently happened to be with a girl who does not get wet well enough, is a virgin as far as penetration is concerned and has real tight vaginal walls, tried oral sex she had orgasms but does not get wet enough, so on trying penetration my foreskin split and yes it did hurt.

Now apart from the fact that she does not get wet though she gets aroused, this incident has got me wondering if i need to get circumcised, i have a decent size and girth and am very active too but this incident of my foreskin getting ripped has me in doubt about cirsumcision.

Do i need to get it?

A female reader, MoominMama United Kingdom +, writes (17 February 2011):

MoominMama agony auntThe problem isn't your foreskin, seriously, your manhood is perfect the way it is.

The issue lies with lubrication, she isn't making much. Whilst you share responsibility (it's a partnership right?) for that (how turned on she's getting, how safe and able to relax she is all relate to how you two are together) the answer is not to hack a piece off your body!

Extra lubrication is a good idea and can be enjoyable for both of you (choose one without chemical nasties in it, you don't want her to get sore as that will make the situation worse) but the answer most likely lies inside her head. If either of you have any reservations hang-ups from previous experiences, fear, or feeling pressured penetrative sex probably wont be all you hope. Don't rush for the 'goal', have lots of other kinds of fun. Time, gentleness, patience and honesty will get you there.

If it really continues not to work at all ever and causes either of you (more) pain I'd suggest asking a trustworthy doctor for advice or a referral.

lucy.whittaker agony auntThere's a very simple solution to your problem. Use lubrication. Sorted.

(Personally, circumcision freaks me out. Leave it the way it is. You really want someone taking a knife to your manhood?! Good Luck)

A male reader, Nithyanala Indonesia +, writes (17 February 2011):

Nithyanala agony auntIt's not generally considered neccessary unless you can't pull your foreskin back at all. In this case the issue seems to be a lack of lubrication, not your foreskin.

Have you tried a lubricating gel?
