writes: Hey!dearcupid,My period was on feb 26 - march 7 or 8 . I had sex for the first time on march 19 but we didn't use a condom and my boyfriend only pre-came. After that a few days later I felt kinda sick started having lower tummy aches, slight nauseous, headaches and my period was due on march 26 and wasn't present. I felt like I could have been pregnant so I took a hpt on march 29 but was negative. 5 days late from my period in the early afternoon of march 31st I started bleeding but wasn't regular red it was brown with slight reddish.I was really cramping and had headache and lower back pains with this later on in the day it started getting heavier in amount and more red color. Got bad cramps through out the night in the morning woke up naushious with cramps again. idk what's going on if its my period or did I have a chemical pregnancy and miscarried? I read about how sometime on a chemical pregnancy you don't even know you're pregnant and other things. I'm really worried as idk what's happened, this is the first time my period begins with brown stuff and yes I've had history of an irregular menstrual cycle. I just need advice on this... thx in advance.

L@dYBelL25 is verified as being by the original poster of the question Chemical Pregnancies
Have you ever had a late period? Noticed that your flow was slightly different, maybe a bit heavier? Perhaps your breasts felt more tender than usual. If you answered yes, then there is a chance you may have had a chemical pregnancy.
Miscarriage Before You Know It
A chemical pregnancy refers to pregnancy loss very early on. In a chemical pregnancy, it is thought that an egg is fertilized but fails to implant. As a result, your body does not begin to produce the obvious signs of pregnancy. Because a chemical pregnancy occurs so early in a pregnancy, most women never even realize they are pregnant. When they receive their period, they just assume they were a few days late.
Women who have been pregnant before, though, may notice that they "feel pregnant" prior to starting their period. Additionally, performing a pregnancy test, either at home or at your doctor’s office, will likely produce an initial positive result. However, this will quickly become a negative as your period approaches and you miscarry.
Just how common a chemical pregnancy is is difficult to say. Because they occur so early on, causing most women to not even be aware that they are pregnant, and don’t produce the same miscarriage symptoms as one would normally experience, a great number of chemical pregnancies go undetected. However, it is estimated that as much as 50% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage before a woman is aware that she was pregnant.

It sounds like you are a little bit hysterical, probably because you just crossed a major milestone in life, and are now a person who has sex. Calm down, and talk to some other people about it, if you haven't. Good luck to you, and I hope everything improves soon!

I've heard that when a girl has sex for the first time it can mess up her cycle. When I lost my virginity I was a couple days late for my next period, but you could make a calendar by my cycle. if you have irregular periods anyway, then had sex for the first time it could be completely normal.
If the symptoms continue you should see a doc, because that doesnt sound like pregnancy. It sounds like a ruprured cyst or some other medical problem.
yes, sometimes you can become pregnant and miscarry all within one cycle. believe it or not, but it is very common. the hpt was reading hormone levels, so if you were pregnant the hormones could have already been declining so the test would not have registered it. This sounds like it will pass, but I AM NOT A DOCTOR! Don't listen to me. If something is off see a doc!

Hello, I don't think you had symptoms of pregnancy because these usually come later on (sickness etc). If you are feeling stressed or ill then it can affect your cycle a lot. I would also add that sexually transmitted infections and gynaecological disorders can cause pain and bloody discharge. You have a history of irregular periods and this could be due to a range of hormonal imbalances and medical conditions. I suggest that you see a doctor to exclude the possibility of endometriosis or polycystic ovaries. A simple blood test would exclude many hormonal conditions and put your mind at ease. I would also suggest you see a doctor for some contraceptive advice. If you think about the anxiety this has caused you, it could be easily solved by taking some precautions against pregnancy in the first place like condoms or the pill.
