writes: alright, so some people are going to read this and think oh great.. a typical high school popularity story. but in my school if you haven't been noticed by now, then you won't be noticed at all. i have a great group of friends, but i'm sick of third/fifth wheeling. i don't even have a date to my dance! i have good guy friends too, but they have girlfriends so i have no one to go with. it's fine with me now, but i just want to know how to change my image a bit. i'm athletic, i play field hockey, i'm smart, in most honors classes and good clubs, but i think guys must dwell on the smart part and not get to know that i'm a fun person. like when i go on vacation, guys always seem interested so i don't think its a looks thing. i was wondering if maybe i don't have confidence in school or if people just get so caught up in stereotypes in high school and my i guess you could say geeky image won't go away?

reader, anonymous, writes (12 February 2009): This is verified as being by the original poster of the questionthanks for your advice, i'm realizing that a lot of relationships in high school don't last long anyways, so i'm just going to focus on friends, sports and school and if anything happens it will come to me, i won't be searching.
