reader, anonymous, writes (9 February 2006): When you die you want to be remembered as who you are, so have your current names written on your tombstone. But that's just my opinion. To stop confusing your family, when they ring you, say: Hi, it's (your current name), so they know that that's what you want to be called. If you have a mobile then put your current name on the end of your text messages too. If they don't get the hint then tell them straight out that you don't want them to be confused, and just ask them to call you the name that you called yourself. If you did it legally, then it's your official name!!
