Oh and I forgot to add, you should tell your friend to 'get lost'. Any "friend" who does that is no friend at all.

No one should be fooled into living with someone that cheats on them and does not treat them with the respect they deserve. Your mother and your father are obviously having issues. One of your parents is not being communicative with the other, or one of them is simply not listening. Generally, the one that cheats is the one that is not being heard and is dissatisfied. Tell your friend to bugger off for a couple of days so you can talk to your father. Let him know that he needs to talk to your mother and be honest about what he has done, so she can at least know what is going on. Every day someone is with their partner, they make the decision to stay. Right now, that decision your mother is making is not an educated one. Afford her the opportunity to give her that chance to make an educated one.

I would consider at least confronting your father and 'friend'...
