CatFish, and tips to keep you safe

CatFish,has nothing to do with either Cats or Fish.As you will probably know ..CATFISH....is a person male/female who will put a fake profile on dating sites....and will contact many people or maybe just one and have a relationship be it friendship/or love situations.This catfish will lie and lie for years as the case maybe and wasting those people lives.Always making excuses,that they can not meet or talk on the phone.Anyone going on a dating site needs to be very careful,to make sure they are mailing the genuine person.On a recent survey carried out re how many matches met on dating sites the percent was just 8%...so that is quiet a small percent.I can understand with life so busy and the many pressures..that people in general will find it easier to go online then maybe go out on a social level.I suppose the main message i want to get across here..is if you go on a dating site be very careful.If meeting ,meet in a public place.finding your own way there and home,Meet in daylight.Tell a member of your family where you are going and with whom you are meeting.If when you meet and you feel uncomfortable..make the meeting short and make an excuse and go ...or better still have a friend ring you after say 15-20 minuets...and just say you have to go.Always remember one cannot be to careful....as with the old saying .BETTER SAFE THEN SORRY.Regards..NORA B.
